Real Housewives Star Tests Positive With The Deadly Covid-19 Virus
Real Housewives of Vancouver star Ronnie Stevenson was bed ridden for nearly 5 days battling Covid-19 this week.
Noticeably absent from her social media channels, Ronnie finally surfaced with an official announcement of receiving a positive test for the deadly virus; stating she had been on deaths door battling symptoms. She explains that her body temperature was slightly elevated but nothing that warranted a red flag. Ronnie has Hashimoto's disease which means her immune system attacks her thyroid on a regular. People with this disease generally have lower than normal body temperatures so a slight elevation in temperature would not generally register as a fever.
As I spoke with her, I could hear slight congestion in her voice. She told me it all started with a severe headache and travelled down her neck into her shoulder blades, down into her lower back and further down into the back of her legs. Ronnie felt like she couldn't sit down, lay down and was not really sure what to do because the pain was so bad. She reiterated how excruciating her headaches and body pain were but she never lost her taste or smell.
The all over feeling of fatigue and little energy continues but Ronnie is slowly gaining strength and health back. She continues to follow proper Covid measures and is hopeful the virus does not stick around too long. Still battling some lingering symptoms including low energy, Ronnie feels like she is coming around the bend now. Keeping with her witty personality, she jokes about how hard it is to keep a good woman down.
Well wishers from all around the world and local to Vancouver continue to flood her DM's with wishes of a speedy recovery while family and friends continue to offer support by dropping off care packages and flowers. As Ronnie continues to recover from the deadly virus, she told me that she felt like someone had beat her with a baseball bat and that the first week was really bad. Covid-19 affects everyone differently but Ronnie confirmed that she experienced more common symptoms including fatigue, aches & pains and headache.
According to the World Health Organization website, the most common symptoms of Covid-19 include fever, dry cough and fatigue however other symptoms could include loss of taste and smell, nasal congestion, red eyes, sore throat, muscle or joint pain, skin rashes, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, chills and even dizziness. Most people who develop symptoms, 80% recover without needing hospital treatment.
Unaware of how she contracted the virus, Ronnie did say that it is extremely difficult to pin point contraction. Although she was diligent with hand washing and mask wearing, life still happens which can ultimately put anyone at risk. Ronnie will continue to practice safe protocol even after she has been cleared with a negative result but for now, Ronnie wishes to extend her gratitude for all the love and support she continues to receive during her recovery and will keep us all updated through her social media channels. You can reach out to Ronnie on Instagram and Facebook to offer your own well wishes.
